Christmas Reflection

Reflecting for a moment on what it must have been like for Mary…

When she gave birth to Jesus she entered a new season of her own life, motherhood.

She is one part of the beautiful Christmas story but in her day to day she had no awareness of there even being ‘parts’ to the story; she didn’t have the wise men’s experience, nor that of the shepherds. Even Joseph’s experience differed vastly from hers.
Mary simply had her life, one choice after another, one step at a time.

Today we have the benefit of seeing all the parts pieced together, displaying God’s true love for each of us in the story of Jesus’ birth.

It is the experience of Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds and the Wise men intricately timed and woven together that carried the heart of God to see the way of Redemption unveiled. Each one honouring what God asked them to carry.

As Mary encountered motherhood, she continued to trust in her God, her faith was unwavering and God’s love unfailing.

Praying that as we encounter the love of God through Jesus at Christmas, we feel peace to carry our God-given purpose and deep joy that we are loved and most precious to God.
